Extended Study Hours

General Information:
Robarts Library along with other libraries will be providing extended study space hours in addition to their regular open hours during the fall/winter academic terms. The Fall/Winter Academic term hours begin on Tuesday September 6, 2011 and end on Sunday April 29, 2012. Other libraries offerening extended study space hours are noted below.


The first day of extended study hours at Robarts Library is Sunday September 18, 2011. The last day of extended study hours is Sunday April 29, 2012.


ONLY the 1st, 2nd and 3rd floors will be open to currently registered UofT students, faculty and staff. For the safety and security of patrons after regular library hours, patrons will be required to authenticate themselves by presenting a valid TCard. No exceptions will be made. TCards are available through the TCard Office, see http://www.utoronto.ca/tcard. Access and exit to the building is through the 1st floor (street level) entrance on St. George Street only.


Extended Hours, Robarts Library (in addition to the regular opening hours):

  • Sunday: 10pm to 8:30am
  • Mondays to Thursdays: 11:00pm to 8:30 am
  • Hours will change depending on the holiday schedule

Services Available during Extended Hours at Robarts Library:

  • 1st floor computer work-stations (you will need to use your UTORid to access the workstations). Further information see Computer Access Facilities on the Information Commons website.
  • Study space and reading rooms on the 1st, 2nd and 3rd floors, the food court area are also open (vending machines only).
  • There is NO ACCESS to the collections or other services of the library beyond these floors.

Other Libraries Offering Extended Hours

During the fall/winter academic terms a number of libraries have extended study space hours. The hours are either an extension to existing opening hours and/or 24/7 access to provide places to study.


The UofT at Mississauga Library (UTM) begins 24 extended study hours on November 28, 2011 and again on April 1, 2012.


The UofT at Scarborough Library (UTSC) begins extended study hours on Tuesday October 11, 2011 with 24 hour extended study hours beginning on Monday December 5, 2011.
