— filed under:

Ask for books and journal articles from a library on another U of T campus
Ask for books and journal articles not owned by a U of T library

To use this service you will need

  • your 14 or 16 digit library barcode
  • your PIN (normally the last 4 digits of your student or personnel number)
  • your email address

Do the U of T libraries own the item you want?

  1. Check the U of T catalogue first.
  2. If you find the item in the catalogue, select 'details', then 'request item', then follow onscreen instructions.
  3. If you wish, print out this mini 'how-to' guide (courtesy of Gerstein Science Information Centre).
  4. If you have a citation to an article try SFX Article Finder for immediate full text.

If you can't find the item in the catalogue or in Article Finder

  1. Register for RACER - once only - to request an item from a library outside the U of T.
  2. Sign on to RACER using your barcode and PIN.
  3. Submit your request, either by searching the catalogues in RACER, or by going directly to 'my account' - 'blank request form.'

Fees

There is no fee for borrowing books.
There is a $5.00 fee for any article acquired from outside U of T.
